Find out what just ate your disk space
ActMon2 watches RAM, swap, and disk movement on your Mac, then surfaces the directories, recent large files, and active writer processes that are most likely responsible.
The app ships as one DMG with a bundled Swift daemon helper. Opening the app installs or replaces the user LaunchAgent for background tracking.
What you get
- Disk events with attribution - See watched directory deltas, recently modified large files, and active writer candidates when disk usage jumps.
- Memory limits per process - Configure thresholds, whitelist trusted processes, and optionally stop processes that exceed limits.
- Background monitoring that survives relaunches - The bundled Swift daemon is installed through a user LaunchAgent and replaced when a newer app build launches.
- Local-first diagnostics - Logs are written on your Mac under
~/Library/Logs/ActMon2/and~/Library/Application Support/ActMon2/.
What you need
- A Mac running macOS 12 Monterey or later.
- Full Disk Access is recommended if you want the clearest directory and file attribution across protected folders.
